Mr. Roy Wayne Smith, age 83, a resident of De Queen, AR, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 in De Queen.

He was born January 4, 1925 in De Queen, Arkansas to Jesse Ray and Fronie Hendricks Smith.
He was a supply clerk for Weyerhaeuser, a Purple Heart recipient at the Battle of the Bulge during WWII,
an avid hunter and a member of the First United Methodist Church of De Queen.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Lindon Smith and a sister, Bonnie Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Allen Smith of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law,
Rodney and Rhoda Smith and Greg and Denise Smith, all of De Queen;
two brothers, Arlis Smith and wife Mary, and Mitchell Smith and wife Judy, all of De Queen;
one sister, Myrtle Sims and husband Ray of De Queen;
His sisters-in-law, Jane Smith, Marolyn Needham and husband Wendell, Carolyn Cowling,
Floy Smith and Barbara Allen; two brothers-in-law, C.C. "Bobby" Smith and Marlin Allen and wife Diane;
five grandchildren, Stacy Smith, Trey Thornton, Shane Smith, Brad Smith and Brooke Smith
and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith was held Saturday, August 23, 2008
in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Williams officiating.
Burial was at the W.L. Allen Family Cemetery.
