James L. Branum
Born August 16, 1941
in Dumas, Arkansas

James L. Branum, 67 of Bossier City, Louisiana, formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas died
Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Willis Knighton Medical Center in Bossier City.

He was born August 16, 1941 in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Coy L. and Velma K.
(Yarbrough) Branum. James was a member of the Magnolia, McNeil, and Bossier City
Masonic Lodge and the Dorcheat Good Sam's Club. He was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Magnolia for 42 years where he served as a former Sunday
School Department Leader and he grew up attending the First Baptist Church of
Stephens, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dianne (Nipper) Branum; father-in-law,
Sam D. Nipper; mother-in-law, Clarice Taylor Nipper.

Survivors are his daughters, Geri Lynn and James Hardy of Minden, Louisiana and
Kimberly M. and Chris Jones of Magnolia, Arkansas;
Grandsons, Trevor Jones of Magnolia, Arkansas, Philip Hardy, Walker Hardy
Both of Minden, Louisiana;
Granddaughters, Kayla Hardy of Minden, Louisiana and Tatum Jones of Magnolia, Arkansas;
Aunt, Mildred Rogers of Shreveport, Louisiana; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 5, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in
Magnolia, Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery
under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia.

Pallbearers wwere Mike Loe, Ernie Chiasson, Butch Wilkie, Bill Duggan, Cecil Wilson,
James Elmore, and Travis Vann. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Nix, James' Sunday
School Class and the Masonic Lodge.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or
Odyssey Hospice of Shreveport, Louisiana.

On behalf half of our family we would like to thank the employees of the Arbor & staff of Odyssey Hospice.

James went to meet our Lord
