EIZABETH DOWD HASLER, 79, of Little Rock, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 17, 2007, at
home with her family. She was born Sept 12, 1928, in Jenks, Okla. to the late Bertha Naomi
Allton Dowd and Charles Lee Dowd. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband Donald C. "Don" Hasler of Little Rock, five children: Dennis
Hasler and wife Christine of Little Rock, Teresa "Tere" Hasler Arbogast and Robin Arbogast of
Sherwood, Michael Hasler of North Little Rock, Mitchell Hasler and wife, Angela, of Sherwood,
and Donita "Dee Dee" Hasler Wehmer and husband, Bill, of Little Rock. She is also survived by
one sister, Madeline Dowd Haynes, of Burro Mountain, N.M., and ten grandchildren: Eric, Evan,
Kelley, Allison, Emily, Daniel, Cole and Lindsey Hasler, John Wehmer and Sean Arbogast, all of
the Little Rock area.
She graduated in 1945 from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Okla., and began working for
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company that same year.
Alyce and Don met in 1951 and were married in Roswell, N.M., on July 3, 1954.
She continued working for the telephone company, as a supervisor, until l956, when she left to
begin raising her family.
The family moved to Richardson, Texas, in 1959, and to Little Rock in 1966. Alyce was a Cub
Scout Den Mother and was active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years in the late
1960s and early 1970s.
A Rosary was be recited on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock.
Visitation was immediately followed the Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, at Christ the King. Burial was at
Forest Hills Memorial Park. Following the burial services, a reception was held at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Odyssey Hospice, 333 Executive Ct, Little Rock, 72205; or The
American Cancer Society, 901 N. I University, Little Rock, 72203 was requested.
Funeral arrangements were by Ruebel Funeral Home of Little Rock.
Alyce and Don were charter members of Christ the King Catholic Church. They were members of
The Good Sam Club, Rock City Sams chapter.
Though Alyce is gone, She is not forgotten.
Though Alyce is absent, She remains in spirit.
Though once a worker, She now rest.
