Mary Beth Shepard, 76, of Benton, AR died October 27, 2008 in El Sobrante, CA..
She was born March 19, 1932 in Fisher, Arkansas to the late Oliver and Edith Dixon.
She was formally employed by Saline Memorial Hospital in Food Service.
Survivors, husband Kenneth Shepard, Daughter Liz Alvarez and husband George of
El Sobrante, CA., and Grandson, Steffan Alvarez.
Pallbearers were Bob Craig, Bud Wright, Kirk Flanakin, Jack Bounds, Buzz Goodwin,
Rayburn Cockman, Rex Weaver, Leon Boykin, all members of Arkansas One Goodsams Club.
Chapel services was by Ashby Funeral Home with Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church,
Eric Roberts officiated. Burial was at Pine Crest Cemetery.
Family Comments: Ken and Beth Shepard are active members of Arkansas One, a chapter of
the Arkansas Goodsams. Ken is a charter member of the club and has been active in all club
functions. When Ken and Beth married, she stepped up to the plate and together, they did
voluntary work at the State Parks of Arkansas. The club, Arkansas One, a Goodsams chapter
of Arkansas, adopted Lake Catherine State Park and one week out of the year, the club camped
together and worked to improve the park. Once a year, Ken and Beth were Park Host at
Petit Jean State Park. Both Ken and Beth were highly respected in their circle of friends within
the club. After Ken and Beth were married, they became Full Time RV'ers and enjoyed their lives
so very much together all over the United States. How fortunate and blessed their lives were
as they shared like dreams and passions.
Though She's gone, She is not forgotten.
Though absent, She remains in spirit.
Though once a worker, She now rest.
