Alvin Lew 'AL' Adams

- in remembrance of Alvin Lew 'AL' Adams -
ALVIN LEW "AL" ADAMS, age 72, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008.
He was born March 21st, 1935, in Banks, Arkansas, to Hurley Alvin Adams and the late
Versie Ora Erwin Adams. AI had retired from GTE after 20-plus years of employment and then
opened his own business, Adams communications, and retired from that. He loved his woodworking
and was a fantastic cook. He and Donna were members of the Whispering Pines Travelers and took
advantage of each opportunity. They also attended the North Pulaski United Methodist Church and
AL had at one time been a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of North Pulaski County and
was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years: Donna Sue, son: David Allan Adams and wife Penny of Lakewood;
Washington, daughter: Edith Anne Goenick and husband Peter of Olympia, Washington; three grandsons;
Jeremy Scott Adams, Jonathan Allan Adams and Evan Adams Goenick;
granddaughter: Elena Adams Goecnick, his father, two brothers: James Erwin Adams and wife Lois of
Kemp, Texas, Leon Daniel Adams and wife Shelba of Thornton, Arkansas;
brother-in-Law: Allan L. Hinds and sister-in-law: Earlene Anne Perkins.
Alvin was a long time member of the Whispering Pine Travelers and of the Goodsams.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 18th at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, Landers Rd,· NLR, AR..
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 19th, at the funeral home chapel officiated by Chaplain Bent Kelly
with entombment in Rest Hills Mausoleum.
